Project Description

A collaboration between our core section, the Health Design Lab, and UBC Purdy Pavilion. An introspective storytelling and human-centred design project with a group of senior residents to portray their stories in print format. In preparation we learned how to design for the elderly, as well as taking design considerations for sight / hearing impairment and those affected by dementia.

Our residents' names were Ollie, Pauline, and Rick. Throughout out the project we created games to stimulate memories and get to know each resident. By gaining insight to their stories, we related the theme of travel, and created the booklet, "Sonder", accompanied by illustrative stickers, to visualize their stories.
